Scholarships

In April 2011 WTS Northern Utah awarded our chapter’s first scholarships at $1,000 each to Johanna Lee Jamison, a student in the City & Metropolitan Planning Dept. at the University of Utah, and Alexsys Smith in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Dept. at the U. The College of Engineering matched that scholarship with $1,000 in tuition.

The Northern Utah Board of Directors is thrilled to have accomplished this important goal we’ve had since founding in 2009. Through the generosity of thousands of WTS members and supporters, the organization has provided over $1,000,000 in scholarships to deserving women throughout the transportation industry, supporting the next generation of transportation professionals and advancing the principles of WTS.

The Foundation is committed to Advancing Women in Transportation through:

• Expanding existing scholarship opportunities to women pursuing transportation related degrees;
• Providing and promoting more educational opportunities and career development to advance women in transportation; and
• Initiating, sponsoring and publishing research related to advancing women in transportation.

WTS Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  The Federal ID Number is 26-4058230.  Contributions made to WTSF are deductible as charitable donations to the extent allowable by tax law. WTS Foundation is the successor organization to WTS Scholarship.
